Who we are

Expert Concrete Builders in Waiheke

We are concrete contractors working on Waiheke, pouring driveways, paths, patios, slabs and retaining walls for properties right across the island. Finishes run from a plain broom surface through to exposed aggregate, honed, coloured and stamped concrete — chosen to suit the grade and the exposure of the site rather than picked off a list.

What shapes the way we work is that nothing here arrives easily. Ready-mix comes across by barge, plant has to fit up narrow and often shared drives, and the ground under most sections is clay that moves with the seasons. So we front-load the planning: volumes worked out and freight booked before a date is promised, access checked before a price is given, and excavation depth set by what we find rather than assumed. Tell us what you are planning and we will come and look at it — get in touch for a free quote.

Why choose us

How We Work On The Island

We Do The Groundwork Too

Excavation, carting off spoil, compaction, drainage and base course are part of the job, not a separate trade you have to line up. On clay ground that matters, because the stage that decides whether a slab lasts happens before any concrete arrives.

Freight Is Planned, Not Hoped For

Every cubic metre crosses by barge. We work out volumes early, book the sailing, and give you a pour date we can hold — rather than a date that slips because nobody booked the material in time.

Specified For The Site We Dug

Slab thickness, reinforcing and drainage get set by what is actually under your section, not by a house spec. We check levels, soil and where water runs during the visit, then quote against that.

Homes And Island Businesses

Driveways, patios, paths, slabs, foundations and retaining for homeowners; car parks, forecourts, floors and hardstand for cafés, cellar doors, and trades. Same crew, different specification.

We Tell You When Not To Replace

If a slab is structurally sound and only the surface has gone, resurfacing costs a fraction of a rebuild. We will say so, even though it is the smaller job, because recommending the wrong one is how you lose a client for good.

Sites Left Clean

Shared drives stay usable, neighbours stay onside, and the broken-out material leaves the property rather than sitting in a pile until someone else deals with it.

Our purpose

Our Mission and Vision

Our aim is simple enough: concrete on Waiheke that is specified for Waiheke. That means digging to a depth the clay actually calls for, detailing reinforcing with salt exposure in mind, and building drainage that moves water off a sloping section instead of letting it sit under the slab. It is unglamorous work and most of it disappears once the pour goes down, but it is what decides whether a surface is still sound in twenty years.

The other half is being straight with people. On an island this size, reputation travels faster than any advertising, and the work is there to be driven past. So we quote what we can deliver, itemise the island costs rather than hiding them in a single figure, say when a repair would do instead of a replacement, and tell you honestly if a deadline is not achievable with the freight available. We would rather lose a job at quoting than disappoint someone who is going to run into us at the shops.

Our approach

Why Property Owners Call Us

We Have Poured In These Conditions Before

Steep drives, reactive clay, shared access and constant salt are the normal case here rather than the difficult one. Knowing how they interact is the difference between a slab that holds and one that cracks in its third winter.

The Logistics Are Our Problem, Not Yours

Booking barge freight, sizing plant to fit narrow access, and staging deliveries so the crew and the concrete arrive together is work we do in the background so your project is not waiting on it.

Finishes That Suit A Coastal Slope

Broom, exposed aggregate, honed, coloured and stamped are all available, but we will recommend against a smooth trowelled surface on a grade — it looks sharp and turns slick the first wet morning.

Quotes You Can Actually Read

Work, materials, freight, disposal and any pumping appear as separate lines. You can see what is concrete and what is logistics, and compare us properly against anyone else you are talking to.

Everywhere On The Island

From the village streets around Oneroa to the steep bays at Palm Beach and the unsealed roads out past Cowes Bay. Remote jobs get planned differently, but they get done.

Straight Answers

If your deadline is not achievable with the freight available, we say so at quoting rather than discovering it later. If a cheaper approach would work, we tell you that too.
